When I was 12, my dad took my brothers and me to a diner for breakfast. One would think it was a typical family breakfast, but my dad took us to observe the wait staff and how long it took for their table turnover. After a few trips to the diner, our hypothesis for the long turnover was because of sugar packets made the cleaning process longer. Through this observation, we created a prototype of a plastic cube with two compartments — one for unopened packets and the other for used ones. This was to ensure that the mess would be minimal. This one project of ours inspired me to write my book, The Innovation Mindset: Eight Essential Steps to Transform Any Industry which shares a formula for driving significant and lasting transformation in any organization.

Just as my dad had inspired me, the goal of this book is to inspire others that innovation is ever-changing and that, “You never fail, you always learn” which is my mantra.
