James Roseau, Sr. is the founder and CEO of The Corelink Solution, a non-profit organization that is committed to revitalizing communities through programs that empower young people to reach their potential. With over 20 years of leadership experience in a variety of industries, including insurance, healthcare, and finance, James brings a strong business background. He has combined his business background with his passion for edutainment and personalized learning, to form The Corelink Solution.

We are in conversation with James to discuss what The Corelink Solution is set out to achieve, and why he is the right person to undertake such an initiative.

James, you are a solutions-oriented, purpose-driven steward. You have brought together your business background with your purpose to create The Corelink Solution. Tell us more about your journey toward creating this organization and its purpose.

“The goal of starting The Corelink Solution was to empower young people and help them reach their full potential. The systems and infrastructure in place today in our society do not support allpeople to succeed. It’s my mission to change that dynamic by introducing an organization that guides people between the ages of 13 and 34 years old through defined processes, systems, and infrastructure, on their way to success — independent of how that success has been defined.

“What makes our initiative different from other programs like it is the business side of it. We are creating a program that integrates business into its core, enabling us to build a self-sustaining organization that in the long run won’t be solely sponsor dependent. My business background helps me in making sure that the organization stays afloat and is able to procure whatever resources are needed. So, we are using these business skills to run the organization, but we also aspire to train the youth we work with in these skills, so they can become financially independent and successful as well.

“The goal is to help our target audience uncover their passion and purpose, so they can thrive in life and society. It is interesting to see how the outcome of every conversation is similar for youth and adults — once they understand it’s up to them, everyone is determined to uncover their passion and work toward being better.

“We explain finding your passion by looking at superheroes and their superpowers. Think of their stories, they consist of four different parts — first, it starts with finding your power, then you use it to goof around for a while, followed by the eureka moment of realization, and finally using your power for good — with the help of a mentor who helps them hone the superpower. Corelink is the mentor, and this is exactly what we are doing in our program — uncovering passion and finally being able to use it to your best ability, guided by mentorship.

“Aside from my background and business knowledge — I would say that there’s a third aspect that makes me the right guy for this purpose. I am bilingual — I can speak to, and resonate with, both youth and business people. I can speak to the young population we work with — connect with them and understand them because I’ve been there, I was one of them. And, I can also speak to business leaders who are looking to recruit upcoming talent, and who may be willing to play a role as a mentor as well.”

Thanks for sharing, James.
