It’s hard to think that we have been living with the pandemic for over a year. Not in our wildest dreams did anyone imagine the challenges we would face.
This holds particularly true for manufacturing leaders who pre-pandemic were facing the skills gap issue, but over the last year have found themselves with a new problem; struggling to generate employee engagement.
Barry Rosen, CEO of Interaction Associates cites a Gallup poll that revealed that only 25% of manufacturing industry employees were engaged, 10% below the U.S. average for all industries. Rosen goes on to tell us that leaders need to rethink how their teams connect and discusses how to make meetings matter today.
As we adapted to different routines both at home and at work there is no doubt that being engaged contributes to both an employees’ well-being as well as a company’s long-term success.
