At the beginning of September Reuters Business News carried an article about U.S. manufacturing activity being the strongest in nearly two years amid a surge in new orders.

This was followed by The Institute for Supply Management (ISM) who said national factory activity increased to a reading of 56.0 in August from 54.2 in July, the highest level since November 2018 and marked three straight months of growth.

More good news from our regular Washington correspondent Alan Tonelson. His analysis of the trade figures just released from the People’s Republic shows that while China has been growing at the expense of the rest of the world, President Trump’s tariff-heavy trade policy toward China is delivering benefits to the United States.

Very refreshing to read cheerful positive news!
